The Ricoh Cup Professional Go Players Pair-Go Tournament finally opened, which is the most exciting event of the Go society in the New Year holiday season. This is not only a dream for many Go fans, but also a pleasure for professional Go players. On December 4, 32 top professional players jointed together to fight heated battles. This is the report from the first and the second round games.

Regretfully, Mr. U Cho, the Meijin, the Hon-in-bo and the Ohza, could not participate in this tournament. As well known Mr. U Cho's playing schedule at home and abroad has been very tight; and unfortunately, the final game of this tournament will be on the same day as the international game he will be playing. However, Mr. U Cho came up to the hall and said, "I really wanted to participate in this tournament, so I am quite regretful. I am here because I just want to say hello to all the fans." His enthusiastic services are reported later, which were offered through the commenting session with a big board and the autographing session.
