Cho Meijin said, `(the opponent was leading but he won) I feel a little bad. Till the end we were losing but it was a very difficult game through the halfway.’
He was asked if he was worrying that his opponent was his wife.
`I tried not to.’ He answered with a wry smile. |
Suzuki 3dan said, `It was good that Cho sensei played easily for me to understand.’
Cho Meijin said, `Ms. Suzuki can read my moves so I feel safe and kept playing.’

On the other hand, the Kobayashi and Yamashita pair who lost:
Yamashita 9dan said, `I thought Izumi san was building up to win with many strong moves but …Before the game, I told Cho san that I was worried about Izumi san’s condition. And Cho san said, `I will crush them, in an instant.’ But I was thinking too optimistically that I thought he would resign because the game was going for a long time.’ Even though he lost, he said with humor.
Kobayashi the Strongest Woman Player said, `(with Cho Meijin) If we play one on one, I feel overpowered by him and I am daunted but at Pair Go, I can play my best. But I’m disappointed that I played the losing move. (Just before the end of the game) If I didn’t play that move, I could win!’ She sounded so disappointed. |

Takemiya 9dan said, `I could only say that the game was great for the winner and loser. It was an impressive Go.’
He concluded and there was a big applause in the hall. |
