Scenes from the Tournament

November 14th (Saturday) The 1st game

Putting aside winning and losing, one of the great charms of this tournament is that the friendship between the participating pairs is deepened through their games. The Hungarian and Indian pairs shook hands smiling after their game, and the German pair gave little ornaments as presents to the Slovenian pair after their game. Katja Bercic, who had looked a little sad after losing, unwrapped her present and immediately her face was wreathed in smiles.
