C’est dans le cadre privilégié de l’Exposition universelle que se déroule le festival international de Pair Go, les 8, 9 et 10 août. Deux paires y représentent la France au 34^ème championnat du Monde amateurs.

　Car, comme dans bien d’autres pays, le Pair Go se développe avec succès dans mon pays. Un championnat de France annuel est ainsi organisé depuis le début des années 1990, le dernier à Montpellier en décembre 2024. On y verra l’intérêt porté à un sport d’esprit exigeant. On y verra aussi une nouvelle illustration de l’attraction qui s’exerce entre le Japon et la France : cette relation particulière entre nos deux pays est d’ailleurs au cœur du Pavillon de la France à l’exposition universelle d’Osaka Kansai 2025.

　Je souhaite aux très nombreux visiteurs quotidiens qui arpentent les allées de Yumeshima de saisir l’occasion du festival international pour découvrir la discipline du Pair Go, d’en mesurer la richesse intellectuelle et aussi de saisir les opportunités d’échanges et d’enrichissement qu’offre cette discipline.

　The Pair Go World Festival will be held on August 8, 9 and 10 in the privileged context of Expo 2025, Osaka Kansai. In the 34th International Amateur Pair Go Championship, which will be held as part of the festival, France will be represented by two pairs.

　This is thanks to the major development that Pair Go has made in France, just as in other countries. Since the 1990s, French Pair Go championship has been held every year. The most recent championship was held in Montpellier in December 2024. We were able to witness a major rise in the level of interest in this demanding mind sport. This also shows a new aspect of the mutual attraction between Japan and France. And this special relationship between the two countries is actually the core theme of the French pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo.

　I earnestly hope that the numerous visitors of the Expo wandering in the streets of Yumeshima will take the opportunity of the World Festival to discover the discipline of Pair Go, to appreciate its intellectual richness and also to seize the opportunities for exchange and enrichment that this discipline offers.
