Eight pairs (16 top professional Go players) from Japan, China, Korea, and Chinese Taipei will compete for the world Pair Go championship title. The preliminary stage will consist of two groups of four pairs. The four pairs advancing from the preliminary stage will compete in a two-round knockout tournament to determine the champions.
